ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – James Lillie (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) turned a two-day score of 153 to finish ninth overall and lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at its own spring invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in men's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.

The Green Terror recorded a 36-hole total of 628 over the two days, posting a 313 to sit in third place after the first day before shooting a 315 on Sunday.

Skidmore, ranked 17th in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division III coaches' poll, won the tournament with a 609, edging St. John Fisher, ranked 13th in the latest poll, by one stroke in the 18-team field. The Thoroughbreds posted a 305 on Saturday and carded a 304 on Sunday. The Cardinals improved from 307 to 303 over the two days.

Swarthmore, who registered a tournament-low round of 301 on Sunday, leapt to a third-place finish. Rochester rounded out the top five, posting a second-round score of 306 to place fourth.

Skidmore's John McCarthy defeated St. John Fisher's Tyler McArdell for the individual championship on a match of cards. Both fired a total of 148. McCarthy, who posted a 72 on Sunday, edged McArdell 5-4 on the second handicap hole.

Lillie fired a team-low round of 76 on Saturday before posting a 77 on Sunday.

Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) finished two strokes behind his teammate and tied for 15th overall. Bowman matched Lillie on Sunday but shot a first-round score of 78.

Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) tied for 30th overall with matching totals of 160. Chittim posted a 78 in the first round before carding a round of 82 on Sunday. Mewhirter registered a score of 81 on Saturday and a 79 in the second round.

Logan Connaughton (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) rounded out the team with a 172 (90-82), finishing tied for 77th in the 91-player field.

Dominic Seelig (Reading, Pa./Exeter Twp.) finished tied for 44th as an individual with a score of 164 (84-80). Kevin Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) played in just the second round, posting a score of 86.

The Green Terror sends a trio of individuals to the Blue Jay Invitational hosted by Elizabethtown on Thursday before the entire team returns to action at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship at Hershey C.C. on Sunday and Monday.
