Bowman, Kovalcheck earn second regional honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two members of the McDaniel men's golf team have been named to the Division III PING All-Region team, released by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville), a junior, made his second straight appearance on the All-Mid-Atlantic team while Paul Kovalcheck (Fairless Hills, Pa./Truman) earned his second regional honor.
The pair was two the 12 players honored in the Mid-Atlantic Region and two of 71 players recognized across the six regions.
Bowman's all-region designation comes by virtue of his third-place showing at the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship at Hershey Country Club on Apr. 3-4. He finished that event with a 36-hole score of 154, carding matching rounds of 77 and leading the Green Terror to a fourth-place showing.
For the season, Bowman entered the NCAA Division III Championship second on the McDaniel team with a stroke average of 77.0 over 21 rounds. He had five top-five finishes and eight top-10 showings in 11 events.
Kovalcheck's nod comes after averaging 76.6 over his 21 rounds this year. He paced the squad with his stroke average, earning four top-five and seven top-10 showings in 11 events this year.
