Yeck enters his second season on staff after a successful playing career at York (Pa.).
He played in 91 games while a member of the Spartan basketball team, including starting all 22 games as a senior. A career .480 shooter, he totaled 400 points, including 189 while serving as a captain during his final season. He also pulled down 147 rebounds and dished out 196 assists.
He was part of York’s, 2004-05 national semifinalist team that went 28-4 where he played in all 32 of the team’s games.
Earning the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic Award, he also participated in the team’s community service activities that included providing gifts to less-fortunate families during the holiday season.
He was also a two-time captain of the golf team. As a golfer, he fired a career-low round of 71 to tie for second place at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational as a senior.
Prior to his arrival at McDaniel, he spent last year as the assistant director of campus recreation at Gettysburg College. While there, he oversaw intramurals and club sports and monitored leagues and special events.
In the summer before his time at Gettysburg, he served as a ticket office and marketing intern at Lehigh, assisting with marketing of the athletic teams and events.
A 2007 graduate of York, he earned his bachelor of science in
sport management.
