CARLISLE, Pa. – A 10-0 second-half run helped Dickinson overcome a nine-point deficit and defeat McDaniel 53-50 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action on Wednesday.

Josh McWilliams (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) netted 16 points to lead the Green Terror (9-11, 5-8 CC), who dropped its third straight game to fall three games out of the fifth and final playoff spot with five games to play.

Moses Romacki led the Red Devils (11-9, 8-5 CC) with 14 points while Justus Melton added 13 points and six rebounds.

McWilliams hit a layup to give McDaniel a 39-30 lead with 16:36 to play. However, a Romocki jumper started a 10-0 run that gave the hosts their first lead of the game.

Nick Perugino (Lewes, Del./Salesianum) converted a layup to snap a 7-minute, 6-second scoring drought and put the Green Terror back in front 41-40 with 9:30 showing.

Tied at 45-all, Bryce Allen drained a 3-pointer with 5:34 showing and Romocki scored three points to give Dickinson its largest lead at 51-45 with 4:04 to play.

A Perugino layup, Austin Cannon (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) free throw and McWilliams layup trimmed the deficit to one with 1:55 remaining.

Jule Brown was able to hit both free with 9.1 seconds remaining to push the lead to three and the defense did not allow a quality look for the second straight possession.

McDaniel jumped out to an 8-3 lead just 3:02 into the game.

A McWilliams 3-pointer and Perugino free throw extended the lead to 15-6 with 13:02 on the clock.

Two Romocki free throws capped a 5-0 run that trimmed the deficit to 18-16 with 6:29 showing. The Red Devils drew as close as 22-21 on a Harrison Brown triple but a Kevin Yrizarry (Owings, Md./Owings Mills) free throw and DJ Harper (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) layup stretched the lead back to four with 3:39 remaining.

A Harper elbow jumper made it a 31-25 game at the half.

Perugino finished with 11 points while Yrizarry added nine.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
