LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference will kick off the 2012-13 basketball seasons with an innovative multimedia event on Tuesday and Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m. both days.
The women's tip-off event will be held on Tuesday, featuring McDaniel head coach Becky Martin at approximately 1:35 p.m.
The men's tip-off event is one day later on Wednesday, featuring Green Terror head coach Kevin Curley at approximately 1:10 p.m.
The multimedia event will replace the traditional coaches' press conference, with each of the 10 head coaches discussing their prospectus for the upcoming year via an interactive video conference using Google+ Hangouts On-Air.
Coaches will each have 10-minute blocks fielding questions from both the moderator and viewers.
Viewers can watch the live event by clicking HERE. The link will go live at 12:55 p.m. each day.
Have a question for your favorite coach? Post them to the Centennial Conference Facebook page or tweet them using the hashtag #CCTipOff13. Then watch the stream to see if your question is selected!
McDaniel fans will have an added bonus later in the week. Play-by-play man Tim Murray will be conducting his own media day and video interviews will be posted with both coaches and selected players from both squads to preview the upcoming season.
The Green Terror women, who finished the 2011-12 season at 11-14 overall, open the season at home in its own Tip-Off Tournament against Emory & Henry. Game time is 6 p.m.
The McDaniel men, who went 6-12 overall in 2011-12, open the campaign at the Allegheny Tip-Off Tournament against Wilmington (Ohio). Game time is 3 p.m.
