Junior named Pride of Maryland Player of the Week

ROCKVILLE, Md. – Louis Sarris-Grau (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland), a junior on the McDaniel men's basketball team, has been named Pride of Maryland Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 10-16.

Sarris-Grau, a forward, was a key part of the team's 3-0 week that included a 61-53 victory over then-No. 18 Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday. The Green Terror (8-7, 5-3 CC) also won at Haverford 68-61 on Thursday and defeated Ursinus at home on Saturday, 54-45.

He averaged 11.0 points per game, recording 11 points in each of the three victories. He had his third double-digit outing of the season on Tuesday, helping the Green Terror topple 18th-ranked Franklin & Marshall 61-53 at home. On Thursday, Sarris-Grau hit a 3-pointer that sealed a 68-61 win at Haverford before helping McDaniel past Ursinus on Saturday, 54-45.

He also added 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent (12-for-24) from the floor. He chipped in five blocked shots and three assists.

For the season, Sarris-Grau ranks third on the team with 98 points and tied for the team lead with 15 blocked shots.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 8 p.m.
