Gooding makes seven saves in relief

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington (Md.) scored four times in the second half to secure a 6-0 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.

Christina Gooding (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) made seven saves in the second half for the Green Terror (5-12, 4-6 CC), who got four saves from Elizabeth Collyer (Rock Hall, Md./Kent County) in the first half.

Jennifer Tordella led the Shorewomen (6-11, 3-7 CC) with two goals.

Elizabeth Davis staked Washington to a 1-0 lead with a penalty stroke in the 16th minute.

Tordella deflected in a cross from Kerry Estep for a 2-0 lead with 4:14 to play in the opening half.

Tordella deflected an Allison Remenapp feed into the upper part of the cage for a 3-0 lead in the 43rd minute.

Maggie Cancelmo found Alison Pantazes for a 4-0 lead in the 50th minute before finishing a Remenapp pass nearly three minutes later.

Alli Dudley converted a second stroke in the 64th minute for the final margin.

Washington finished with a 21-4 advantage in shots and 13-3 advantage in penalty corners.
