Bach tallies first

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – McDaniel scored early in each half to key a 3-1 win at Stevenson in non-conference field hockey action on Tuesday.

Sarah Bach (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) scored one of the three goals for the Green Terror (3-3), helping snap a three-game skid with her first collegiate tally.

Alison Kagel scored for the Mustangs (5-2) to pull the hosts with 2-1 with 27:47 to play.

On a penalty corner in the 14th minute, Sara Reynolds (York, Pa./Central York) sent a ball low that Lara Haab (Gladwyne, Pa./Country Day School of Sacred Heart) put home for a 1-0 lead.

Julie Little (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) doubled the advantage at the 41:24 mark off a feed from Sarah Meszler (Herkimer, N.Y./Herkimer).

Less than a minute later, Caitlin Dempsey found Kagel on a breakaway to close the deficit to one.

Bach finished on a penalty corner in the 59th minute to seal the victory.

Caila White (Delmar, Md./Delmar) made six saves for the Green Terror, who finished with a 10-7 edge in penalty corners but were outshot 13-11 on the day.

Bayley Vohs (Millerstown, Pa./Greenwood) had a defensive save for McDaniel.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
