Haab takes eight shots

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Shenandoah scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat McDaniel 2-0 in non-conference field hockey action on Tuesday.

Lara Haab (Gladwyne, Pa./Country Day School of Sacred Heart) took eight shots for the Green Terror (2-2), who finished with a 24-4 advantage in shots but could not find the backboard for the second straight game.

Sarah Clare made 13 saves for the Hornets (3-1), who also got three defensive saves from Alana Meadows.

Tori Finney finished on the backpost off a backhanded feed from Presha Merritt on a corner in the 57th minute for a 1-0 lead.

Ashley Cross added an insurance goal just over four minutes later.

Danielle DeColli (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) and Sara Reynolds (York, Pa./Central York) had four shots apiece.

The Green Terror returns to action in the Centennial Conference opener at Muhlenberg on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
