LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the McDaniel field hockey team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Monday.

Paige Messersmith (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) was named to the first team while Hope Battista (Crofton, Md./South River) was tabbed honorable mention.

Messersmith, a junior midfielder, became the Green Terror's 14th first-team All-CC selection and first since Brooke Dixon earned the nod in 2008. Messersmith has started all 17 games and ranks fourth on the squad with four goals and 11 points. Her three assists is tied for third. She is also tied for the team lead with five defensive saves.

Battista, a senior defender, has started all 17 games and has contributed one goal and one assist to the offense. She also has one defensive save.

McDaniel (10-7, 4-6 CC) earned the No. 8 seed to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic tournament and will open play at top-seeded Lebanon Valley in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Game time is 2 p.m.
