Green Terror score 5:50 apart for 2-0 win at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Mandy Pickard (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) converted a penalty stroke in the 55th minute to break a scoreless deadlock and help McDaniel to a 2-0 win over Stevenson in non-conference field hockey action on Sunday.

Kaitlin Boerman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) added a goal for the Green Terror (2-4), who finished with a 12-6 advantage in shots and 11-6 edge in penalty corners.

Kara Zimmerman made two saves for the Mustangs (2-3) while Stephanie Thomson (Glen Burnie, Md./Chesapeake) had two stops for McDaniel.

At the 54:18 mark, Pickard converted the penalty stroke for her third goal of the season.

Just 5:50 later, Jessica Largent (Denton, Md./North Caroline) passed a ball into the circle from the left to Boerman for the final margin.

McDaniel returns to action at Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
