LANCASTER, Pa. – Joe Rollins (Temple Hills, Md./Surrattsville), a junior on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 2-3.
Rollins led the Green Terror (0-9, 0-8 CC) to its best offensive day of the season, rushing for a season-best 266 yards on 29 carries. The running back carried the ball 29 times in his fifth career 200-yard rushing day and found the end zone a career-high four times.
Rollins averaged 9.2 yards per carry, including breaking off runs of 68 and 71 among his touches. He added 15 receiving yards and 31 kick-return yards to give him 312 all-purpose yards on the day.
The rushing yards put him over 1,000 for the season, finishing the day with 1,100 to give him 3,124 career rushing yards and move him into third place on the all-time list.
McDaniel concludes the season at No. 13 Johns Hopkins on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
