LANCASTER, Pa. – Matt Cahill (Broomall, Pa./Haverford Twp.), a senior on the McDaniel football team, and Kevin White (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford Twp.), a sophomore, have been named Centennial Conference (CC) Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 9.
Cahill earned the co-offensive honor with Gettysburg's Anthony DeSalva while White earned his second defensive accolade of the season – the fourth straight game in which a Green Terror defender has been honored. The duo is McDaniel's sixth and seventh players to be honored by the conference this season.
Cahill caught a career-high three touchdown passes for the Green Terror in its 35-0 win over Susquehanna on Saturday. Cahill had four catches for 40 yards but his catches of 15, 6 and 10 resulted in scores.
For the season, he leads the team with 22 catches, 281 yards and five touchdowns.
White was a key member of the defensive unit that pitched its second shutout of the season. White had a team-best seven tackles but added a forced fumble, fumble recovery and interception, which he returned 26 yards to set up McDaniel's first offensive score of the day.
For the season, he has 26 tackles, two interceptions and four pass breakups.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
