LANCASTER, Pa. – Chris Kolb (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key), a junior on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 27.
Kolb led the Green Terror (2-2, 1-1 CC) in a 20-13 victory over Dickinson on Saturday. He only registered three tackles but recovered two fumbles – both of which set up McDaniel touchdowns.
On the game’s opening kickoff, he fell on the loose ball at the Red Devil 20, leading to the Green’s Terror’s first score.
With the game tied at 13-all and 1:33 to play, Kolb picked up the ball at the Dickinson 24 and returned it 20 yards to set up T.J. Develin’s (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) game-winning four-yard touchdown run seven seconds later.
For the season, Kolb has 11 tackles and the two fumble recoveries.
McDaniel returns to action at Juniata on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
