LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the McDaniel baseball team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Thursday.
Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) earned first-team honors while Joe Fiore (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Beach) was named to the second team. Marty Windisch (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) was tabbed as an honorable mention.
Betts, a senior first baseman, earns his second all-conference honors after being named second team in 2013. Betts becomes just the seventh Green Terror player to earn first-team All-CC honors after hitting .341 on the season. He rapped out a team-best 11 doubles among his 46 base hits. He finished second on the team with 22 RBIs and scored 21 runs. Starting all 33 games at first base, he had just one error in 321 chances.
Fiore, a senior second baseman, makes his first appearance on the all-conference team. Fiore hit a team-best .353, starting 32 of his 33 appearances. Fiore recorded seven doubles among his 42 hits, adding 22 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
Windisch, a sophomore third baseman, earns his first all-conference nod. Starting all 33 games, he finished second on the team with 46 base hits, rapping nine doubles, a triple and four home runs. He exploded for a program record three roundtrippers in a 15-2 win at Haverford on Apr. 12. Windisch added a team-best 27 RBIs while scoring 24 times.
The Green Terror finished the season with an overall record of 15-18 (9-9 CC).
