WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored a pair of runs in the first inning of game one to key a doubleheader split with Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (12-6, 1-3 CC) took the opener 3-1 before the Mules (17-8, 2-2 CC) took advantage of a third-inning error to plate three runs and win game two, 4-2.

Tyler Jackow (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) led the McDaniel offense with 4-for-6 showing in the twinbill.

Chris Manfredonia paced the Muhlenberg attack with a 4-for-7 day.

In the opener, Patrick Christopher (Union Beach, N.J./St. John Vianney) walked and stole second before scoring on a Ricky LaSota (Burtonsville, Md./Paint Branch) one-out single.

After LaSota advanced to second on a groundout, an error allowed LaSota to score and push the advantage to 2-0.

John Muha led off the Muhlenberg fourth with single before taking second on a wild pitch. After advancing to third on a groundout, Nick Kennedy singled to cut the deficit in half.

After James Chiorello (East Windsor, N.J./Lawrenceville Prep) drew a one-out walk in the eighth, a pair of errors put Marshall Betts (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) on first and Chiorello on third.

Jimmy Najera's (Fort Washington, Md./DeMatha) RBI groundout plated Chiorello with an insurance run.

The Mules loaded the bases in the ninth but Chiorello got the final two outs of the game for his first save of the season.

Danny Snight (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) picked up his third win of the season, striking out seven in 8 1/3 innings.

Tied at 1-all with two outs in the top of the third inning, a dropped fly ball allowed Brian Beck to reach base.

Joseph Vila followed with a walk to put runners at first and second for Brett Rosen, who singled in Beck for a 2-1 lead.

With runners at the corners, the Mules executed a double steal to push the lead to 3-1. Manfredonia followed with a single of his own to score Rosen from second for a 4-1 lead.

A Jackow leadoff single, a groundout and Brandon Hayward (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) single put runners at the corners in the bottom of the inning.

LaSota drove in Jackow to cut the deficit to 4-2 but could not muster another run despite having runners at third base with fewer than two outs twice over the final six innings.

A Jimmy Cody single, stolen base, passed ball and Nick Busillo double staked Muhlenberg to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

In the bottom of the frame, Christopher drew a leadoff walk before swiping second and scoring on a LaSota single.

The Green Terror returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
