Employment Opportunities in Athletics
The following work-study opportunities are available for student employment in the Department of Athletics:
Please note: Some positions fill more quickly than others. Even if a position is filled at the beginning of a semester, there is a chance a position could become available during the semester. Contact the individual supervisor for more information on specifics.
Fitness Center
Greet and check-in people as they enter the gym. Enforce facility rules. Monitor use of equipment. Clean exercise equipment. Contact Scott Singleton.
Intramurals
Office help, scheduling, event administration. New or returning students. Contact Scott Singleton.
Sports Information - Game Management
Provide support for athletic events, including opportunities as public address announcers, official scorers and spotters, clock and scoreboard operators. Office hours are also available for interested individuals. Contact Luke Stillson.
Equipment Room
Work in equipment room and assist with some field work; painting, game set-up, etc. Required to do laundry and other duties as requested. Contact Ken Nunnelee.
Assist with inventory control, event management, and facility management. Contact Ken Nunnelee.
Lifeguard
Supervise and lifeguard swimming pool during all open, recreational and rental swim times. Some weekends required. Must have current Lifeguard Certification, First Aid, and CPR. Pool Operator a plus. New or returning students. Contact Kim Easterday.
Swim Instructors
Should have experience teaching swimming to “water babies” and/or children ages 4 and above. Contact Jeff Hiestand.
Athletic Training
Prepare supplies for practices and games. Fill water bottles/cups for home games. Maintain facility, learn basic taping and wrapping skills along with rehabilitation exercises. Contact Greg Nibbelink
Main Office Worker
Routine office tasks including light typing, data entry, mail sorting, copying, stuffing envelopes, running errands on campus. Office experience, MS Word and Excel experience helpful. Contact Tracey Johnson.
