Sidney breaks hits record
Rachel Sidney earns the female athlete of the week honors after leading the softball team to a 3-2 trip to the ECAC championship.
The senior went 8-for-18 in the five games to hit a team-best .444. Her eighth hit of the week was the 184th of her career, breaking the program record for career hits. The mark had stood since 1998 until Sidney rapped out 58 base knocks this season.
For the season, she finsihed with a team-best .379 batting average. She had 13 doubles and six triples among her 58 base hits. She also stole 24 bases and scored 37 runs.
