Brehm holds hitters down in 3-1 week
Caroline Brehm earns her second female athlete of the week honors after leading the softball team to a 3-1 week.
Brehm threw all 33 innings in the circle, striking out 42 batters in the two doubleheaders in back-to-back days. She held opponents to a scant .075 batting average (6-for-108) and posted a 0.42 ERA. She also threw a pair shutouts.
For the season, she has 256 strikeouts and 1.31 earned-run average in 181 2/3 innings.
