Brooks wins eight times
Brad Brooks earns the male athlete of the week honors after leading the men's swimming team with eight wins in three meets last week.
On Wednesday at Gettysburg, Brooks won twice to lead the Green Terror. Brooks took the 400 IM in a time of 4:08.73, winning by nearly 27 seconds and finishing 0.92 seconds shy of the NCAA Division III B-Cut time. He then joined Stevie Hoyt, Logan Linden and Brandon Bond to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.33. Brooks was also second in the 100 backstroke, debuting at No. 2 on the program's all-time list with his time of 55.42 seconds.
On Friday against St. Mary's (Md.), Brooks won three times, including setting a pair of new Harlow Pool records. He won the 200 butterfly in a pool-record time of 1:58.96, which ranks third in program history just 0.20 seconds shy of the record. He also won the 500 freestyle in pool-record time, turning in a time of 4:39.07to win by more than 33 seconds. Brooks also won the 1000 by nearly a minute with a time of 9:50.46.
On Saturday against Ursinus, Brooks won three times, including anchoring the 200 medley relay to victory to open the meet. Patrick Rogers, Justin Allen and Hoyt joined Brooks to swim a time of 1:41.54. The relay time ranks sixth all-time. Brooks also won the 200 freestyle for McDaniel with a time of 1:43.20 and touched first in the 500 free (4:40.00) one day after setting a pool record in the latter event.
Brooks has 11 wins on the season.
